Black Sheep Brewery
At the Black Sheep Brewery visitor centre you can enjoy home cooked food, tours around the historic brewery and try the range of freshly served beers. The brewery gets its name from its fascinating origin story. Originally owned by the Theakston family, one family member, Paul Theakston, decided to branch off following brewery disagreements, and created his own independent brewery in the same town, Masham. Paul could be described as the "black sheep" of the family, leading him to name his brewery after this. It is set in an old maltings overlooking the town and uses the same equipment that started the business when it was first established to create the famous Black sheep beers that are available all over the country.
