On the second floor, this room features soaring ceilings with exposed beams and exquisite views out over Penhill and down Bishopdale. At its heart is a wonderful French standard double bed (gorgeous, though not the best for giants!) accompanied by original Provençal art, an in-room cast-iron bath, and an en-suite shower room with underfloor heating.
Good to know: Due to the dramatic vaulted ceiling, the wall between the bathroom and bedroom is a partition wall and might not be suitable for couples who prefer total privacy.
Pet Policy: Dogs are not permitted in this room.
Kes
A light-filled room on the first floor, featuring a grand king-size four-poster bed and a large bay window with sweeping views across Wensleydale to Penhill. Celebrating the classic film Kes, the space is styled with artwork paying homage to the story—including a print by Barnsley-based artist Patrick Murphy alongside an original framed vintage cinema lobby card. Complete with an en-suite shower room featuring underfloor heating.

Santa Fe Cowboy
Positioned on the second floor, this extraordinarily spacious room pairs rustic charm and warm Southwestern textures with sweeping, high-altitude views right across the Wensleydale valley.
Anchored by a king-size bed, the space is styled with Georgia O’Keeffe prints from the Tate. Soak in the in-room cast-iron bath while taking in the landscape, or step into the adjoining en-suite shower room with underfloor heating.
Flexible Layout: Includes a day bed and sitting area for an additional guest and added comfort, with room for a child's camp bed (under 7) upon request.

High Fell

Welcome to Stow House
Stow House is a boutique bed and breakfast set in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, offering dreamily comfortable bedrooms and wonderfully indulgent bathrooms.
Breakfast is included in your stay and pre-ordered the night before with flexible time slots to suit your morning. We are proud to support small local businesses for our coffee, granola, and bread, while our orange juice is freshly squeezed in-house. All our produce is locally sourced, and we are always happy to cater to dietary requirements.
Join us in the sitting room or library between 6 pm and 7 pm for our daily drinks hour, featuring a carefully curated cocktail menu, wine, and craft beer selection with a strong focus on local offerings. A well-stocked honesty bar is also available whenever you fancy a drink.
We are just a stone's throw from the falls, with beautiful walks straight out the door. When it's time for dinner, the Aysgarth Falls Hotel is a short walk up the road. In the summer, you can also take a 20-minute walk across the fields to The Wheatsheaf in Carperby, a fantastic pub with wonderful service. Plenty of other excellent restaurants are just a short drive away, and we are always happy to arrange a taxi for you.
We love welcoming dogs and accommodate them in all rooms except Kes and Penhill Giant, our two non-dog rooms. Just let us know in advance if you'll be bringing your four-legged friend along.
