About Us

After living in San Diego for over 20 years working as scientists in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry, we decided to trade the sunshine of California for the charm of the Yorkshire Dales. Originally from the North of England—Andrew from Barnsley and Sarah from Manchester—we are thrilled to return and are happy to be part of the warm and friendly local community.

Built in 1876 for the Reverend Stow, the Rural Dean of Wensleydale, Stow House is a magnificent Victorian property with truly glorious views. Inside, our rooms reflect our journey, featuring eclectic art that spans from Southern California graffiti artists all the way to classic pastoral Dales landscapes.

Each of our six rooms has been carefully designed to be as comfortable as possible, complete with indulgent bathrooms and views that are just as glorious as ever. In the time since taking over, we've loved adding our own stamp to the place and, most importantly, perfecting our cocktail-making skills.
